13 May More Apartments Slated for Brooks
SAN ANTONIO — A 280-unit apartment community is in the works at Brooks City Base, the former U.S. Air Force Base on the Southeast Side.
The complex, to be called Aviator at Brooks City Base, includes the redevelopment of four former barracks located near Sidney Brooks and South New Braunfels Avenue. The project also will require three additional buildings to be constructed at the site.
San Antonio-based MissionDG and its construction partner Austin-based The PPA Group are expected to start work on the project in July. The development is expected to be complete by summer 2015.
The area’s robust retail corridor along S.E. Military Drive and proximity to employment hubs such as Mission Trail Baptist Hospital made it ideal spot for investment, said Mark Tolley.
